Michele Stodart is a multi–award-winning singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, musical director, arranger known for her deeply collaborative approach and her ability to shape meaningful musical experiences both on stage and in the studio.

Alongside an ongoing 20+ year career with her internationally-renowned, double-platinum-selling band, The Magic Numbers and as well as her own acclaimed solo work, Michele has built a reputation as a trusted Musical Director, Arranger, and Producer, working across live performance, recording projects, curated events, and artist development.

With roots in Americana, Country, Indie, and Folk, Michele brings a strong musical sensibility, emotional intelligence, and attention to detail to every project she leads. An avid collaborator, who is highly sensitive to both people and the process, creating supportive, calm working environments where artists feel genuinely heard and empowered. Known for her ability to manage relationships with care and clarity, Michele approaches every project “in service to the song,” instinctively tuning into what each individual piece of music and the artist needs - whether in a live setting or in the studio.

She has served as Musical Director for the UK Americana Awards show for five consecutive years, where she curated a house band and collaborated with a wide array of artists including Judy Collins, Candi Staton, Billy Bragg, Mike Scott (The Waterboys), Allison Russell, and Lyle Lovett, amongst many others. Grammy-nominee Candi Staton praised Michele for her “original, ambitious ideas delivered with care and professionalism,” Mike Scott described her as a

killer bass player, sharp mover, top bandleader,

and Judy Collins publicly praised Michele on stage for her “incredible” talent - reflecting the respect she commands within her musical community.

Michele is also Musical Director, Producer, and Arranger for Letters to the Future, an ambitious new cross-disciplinary performance bringing together leading musicians, writers, and thinkers to explore a defining question of our time: how do we imagine the future we want? Michele leads an international band performing newly written songs by acclaimed UK and Canadian songwriters including Aysanabee, Emily Barker, Catherine MacLellan, John Smith, Mimi O’Bonsawin, and others. These songs are interwoven with newly commissioned “letters to the future” from writers, thinkers, and cultural leaders including Robert Macfarlane, David Suzuki, Jeanette Winterson and Peggy Seeger.

Her wider collaborative work includes projects with Kathryn Williams, David Ford, Martha Wainwright, Julian Taylor, Hannah White, Charlie Dore, Boo Hewerdine, Bernard Butler, Daisy Chute, Miranda Mulholland, Bill Fay, Natalie Imbruglia, Rachel Sermanni, Ren Harvieu, O’Hooley & Tidow, David Kitt, and many more…

Beyond performance and production, Michele is passionate about nurturing creative communities. She regularly curates festival stages, directs an annual multi-artist show celebrating International Women’s Day, and hosts showcase nights at London’s legendary Green Note, championing both established and emerging talent. Alongside this, she works as a tutor and mentor leading songwriting masterclasses, creative workshops, and retreats for adults and young people alike.
